Like many people, you may have heard about holistic dentistry but aren’t sure how it works or what it entails. Holistic dentistry differs from traditional dentistry in various ways. Where traditional dentists are more concerned with treating just your oral problem, holistic dentists look for cures that benefit your body as a whole. Holistic dentists also favor natural remedies and techniques to address the dental needs of their patients. Suppose the natural, whole-body approach to dentistry appeals to you. In that case, Dr. Glenn MacFarlane from The Center for Holistic Dental Medicine in Red Bank, New Jersey, encourages you to visit our center to learn more about holistic dental care.
Holistic dentistry takes a different approach to dental care. Whereas traditional dentistry tends to deal directly with dental problems as they arise, holistic dentistry looks at the whole picture of why the problem occurred in the first place and what solutions can prevent it from occurring in the future.
As a holistic dentist, Dr. MacFarlane will use natural remedies to treat oral issues—remedies that will also benefit your overall health. Sometimes, your Red Bank dentist combines traditional methods with holistic remedies to give optimal healing results.
If you’re wondering if holistic dentistry is a good choice for you, consider the following benefits of holistic dental care:
Safety/Conservative Treatments: When it comes to safety, holistic dentistry is the best option, as the materials used for treatment are all natural and compatible with your body. We choose natural remedies over chemical-based treatments whenever possible to restore oral health. Minimizing toxins in our treatments reduces your risk of harmful side effects that can hinder your recovery.
Comfort: Holistic dentists like Dr. MacFarlane favor non or minimally invasive treatments and techniques that are less painful for our patients and present fewer risks.
Whole Body Health: Holistic dentistry doesn’t isolate oral issues but connects them with whole-body health and wellness. As oral issues impact general health, Dr. MacFarlane looks for dental solutions that benefit both oral and general health and wellness.
Long-term Cure: Traditional dentistry focuses on treating existing problems. Holistic dentistry, however, digs deeper to uncover the cause of dental problems and addresses them at the source to help prevent them in the future. This approach provides long-term solutions to oral issues and promotes better oral health.
Modern Technology: Holistic dentistry is aligned with modern technologies, like low-dose digital X-rays, ceramic implants, CEREC CAD/CAM technology, metal-free fillings, and laser periodontal therapy to help our patients get the best care. We aim to provide you with the quality dental care you deserve with minimal oral or general health risks.
